SEEDS OF UNFORGIVENESS ✓ ONLY ONE AFI BLOG✨

UNFORGIVENESS ✓ ONLY ONE AFI BLOG✨

Pain, when acknowledged, can be a teacher. But pain when harbored becomes a prison.

Holding onto anger, hurt, resentment, and unforgiveness doesn’t preserve justice nor maintain balance—it does the exact opposite. It prolongs suffering and continual spiritual interference and attacks.

What begins as a wound gradually transforms into an identity. You arrive to s point where you stop carrying the pain… and the pain starts carrying you. Literally, It begins to reshape your thoughts, distorts your perception, and quietly poisons your spirit, your relationships, and connections. Even moments of peace feel unfamiliar, because internally, conflict has become your normal.

Harbored pain is deceptive. It convinces you that letting go means losing, backing down. It deceives that forgiveness is weakness, that releasing the past dishonors what you went through. Which couldn't be more further from the truth. The truth is the opposite: clinging to pain gives continued power to what hurt you. It keeps you spiritually, mentally, and emotionally tethered to moments that should have been temporary and were moments meant for defeat.

Over time, this internal weight manifests outwardly—stress, bitterness, isolation, even physical exhaustion. You begin to react instead of respond, to expect harm instead of hope. Life narrows. Joy becomes distant.

Letting go is not denial. It is not pretending the pain never existed. It is choosing freedom over attachment to the suffering. It is you overcoming and reclaiming your power back from what tried to break you.

Pain may have visited you—but it was never meant to dwell in you:

Mark 11:25 (KJV)  And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

Luke 6:32 (KJV)  For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.

Luke 6:35 (KJV)  But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
